Why it matters

A criminal charge doesn't just go away on its own.

What happens in the next few weeks can shape the rest of your life. The right defense, early, is what changes the outcome.

Your freedom

Jail or prison is on the table. Getting ahead of the charge is how you fight to stay out.

Your record

A conviction follows you through every background check, for jobs, housing, and licenses, for years.

Your future

One charge shouldn't define the rest of your life. We fight to protect what comes next.

The prosecutor already has a lawyer working against you. You should have one working for you.

What we defend

The charges we take on.

Not sure how your charge is classified? Start with the two below. We defend both.

MisdemeanorsLower-level charges, first offenses, and city or justice court cases.
FeloniesSerious charges in Superior Court, including repeat and probation cases.
Assault & disorderly conduct
Theft & shoplifting
Drug charges
Criminal damage
Weapons & misconduct
Fraud

Misdemeanor or felony, first offense or not, if you've been charged or think you're about to be, talk to us before you talk to anyone else, including the police.

How we fight it

Reduce it, dismiss it, or beat it.

We dig into the evidence

We pull the reports, the stops, and the searches apart, looking for the weakness that changes your case.

We take it to the prosecutor

We carry your side to the prosecutor and push to get the charge reduced or dropped. You never talk to them alone.

We're ready for trial

Prosecutors deal differently with a firm that will try the case. We prepare every case like it's going the distance.

Recognized defense

A firm prosecutors take seriously.

From our founder

I've been on your side of this.

I'm Zach Divelbiss, and I founded Future First Criminal Law after facing the criminal system myself. I know how fast it moves, how alone it can make you feel, and how easily one charge starts to feel like it defines everything that comes next.

That is why we do this differently. We treat your case like it is our own, we fight to protect your future and not just close a file, and we push a system that too often forgets there is a real person behind every case.

Common questions

Plain answers, no legalese.

I was just charged. What should I do first?
Do not talk to the police or the prosecutor about your case, and do not try to explain your side to them. Anything you say can be used against you. Call us first and let us carry your side for you.
Do I really need a lawyer for a misdemeanor?
Yes. A misdemeanor conviction still shows up on background checks and can cost you a job, housing, or a license. The right defense can often keep that from happening.
Do you handle felony charges?
Yes. We defend the full range of felonies in Arizona, from first-time charges to serious and repeat offenses, in Superior Court. If you're facing a felony, the sooner we're involved, the more we can do.
It's my first offense. Won't they go easy on me?
Maybe, but the default outcome is a conviction on your record. Changing that is the work, and it's a lot easier with a lawyer pushing for a reduction, diversion, or dismissal.
Can you get my charge reduced or dismissed?
Often, yes. We look for the weaknesses in how the case was built and push the prosecutor to reduce or drop the charge. Every case is different, and we'll tell you honestly what we think is possible after we review yours.
What happens at the free case review?
You tell us what happened, we explain what you're facing in plain terms, and we lay out how we'd defend it and what it costs. No pressure, and everything you share stays confidential.
What does it cost?
A flat fee, told to you upfront, with payment plans available. The case review is free, and the stakes almost always dwarf the fee.

Don't wait for the case to get worse.

The sooner we're involved, the more we can do. Get a free, confidential case review in minutes.
